On this, the anniversary (should I call it that?) of Dr. King's assassination, how do you feel the vision and dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is faring?
How have the men and women who have replaced him as the leader in the struggle for equality done?

No one wants to weigh in on an open and intelligent conversation?

It's sad that the webmaster (or whomever) feels the need to censor the poll so as not to allow for any discussion on this topic.
I realize that not many people like to "rock the boat" when it comes to "race relations." Having studied Dr. King, his writings and speeches, I think he would not approve of where we are now or the way that many of us choose to "deal with" dissenting opinions. He was a big advocate of talking about differences, bringing them into the open, so that discussions could be productive.
Dr. King also understood that forcing the American public into equality with legislation was only a step in the right direction and not the solution to the problem. His vision did not include legislation upon legislation, which, I'm ashamed to say, creates animosity on one side and entitlement on the other.
Dr. King's Dream was that color would not matter and that everyone would be judged by their character. People could succeed or fail based on their own merits.
In my humble opinion, this is where the successors of Dr. King have failed miserably. They have created division where no division is needed or wanted. They have done it, not in the name of equality, not in the name of justice, but for their own self-aggrandizement, for their own benefit. Not exactly what Dr. King had in mind.
